Content That Converts
Content creates authority, builds credibility, helps your get better search engine rankings and pre-sells your products or services.
Sounds great, right? But what does it mean?
Let me tell you a story.
Just the other day, I finally decided to hire a kinesiologist. (Hard word to say and spell but it just means someone who works with energy to smash you blocks and upper limits).
I started getting intrigued with this idea in the past six months or so. I came across this term in a few Facebook groups I have been following and so I started following a few kinesiologists. Now two out of these five people also blogged on their website. Three did not. I received fresh content on a weekly basis from the former which I checked when I had time or something caught my eye.
When it was time to hire someone to work with me, guess who I picked?
All of them seem great, don’t get me wrong but I went along with the one whose content I resonated with the most.
This is what their content did for me.
- I came to know them as a person (which is so important because you won’t buy from a complete stranger online).
- I came to like them – and trust them.
- I was convinced that they knew what they were talking about.
In essence, their content made the case for me. They didn’t have to rely on promotions or costly copywriting hires. Based on the kind of content they published, I was sold. This is what the right content does for your business. You don’t have to have a expensive website, you don’t need to spend thousands on sales copy and you certainly don’t need a huge list. Sending content regularly to your list keeps it warm – meaning you are top of mind. When you create the right content, it slowly takes a reader from someone who is curious about what you have to say to someone who is convinced to someone who makes a purchase.
Win-win all around.
Here are some blog posts that I wrote to help you get started.
